The Walnut Street Winery plus Saunas is unlike many other wineries.  We make fine wines in small batches using the best raw materials available from some the best vineyards all over the world. 

If you want a great Pinot Noir, then you better use the best grape juices and concentrates from California, Oregon, or Washington.  What about a wonderful glass of Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon?  This wine can be made from juices and con-centrates that come from fine grapes grown in France.  Our suppliers can ship us the materials to make wines from where the best grapes are grown – from Australia, California, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, France, Argentina, Italy, and more. 

The end result is great tasting wine made in Rochester, Illinois that will taste like a wine made from where the grape was grown.  In addition to our own wines that are produced and bottled at the winery, we also sell over several different wines from all over the world.  So we make it easy for you to find a wine that is right for you.

We are also different from other wineries because we also sell infrared saunas made by Hotwind Sauna Compnay.  These saunas are a picture of health.  They can remove toxins and waste, boost your metabolism, relieve stress and fatigue, and much more.  Far-Infrared heat is a form of naturally occurring energy that directly heats objects by gentle infrared radiation heat, rather than by raising the temperature of the surrounding air. FIR heat is completely safe for the human body. Physical therapists often use FIR heat to promote healing and hospitals use the same heat in incubators to keep premature babies warm.

Our wine garden features a bocce ball court that is 60 feet long and 13 feet wide.  You can enjoy your wine out in the open air, along with some of the great Wisconsin cheeses that we have available.  The wine garden is a unique setting for hosting, wedding receptions, class reunions, office parties, Christmas parties and other group events.

We are located off of Route 29 just 7 miles east of the state capital in Springfield, Illinois.  We welcome all of our legislators to visit the winery when in session.  We are not certain if Abe Lincoln ever visited Rochester, Illinois.  However, all visitors to the Abe Lincoln Presidential Museum are most welcome at the winery.
